The IS580 series servo drive, a technical upgrade from the IS300 series, is developed for high-performance vector control of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). With the high-performance vector control technology, the drive is specially optimized for process control specific to injection molding machines, such as control on the injection speed and pressure holding accuracy. It also offers stability control when used with an injection molding machine controller. The drive comes with communication bus functions and a software tool for monitoring and supports multiple encoder types. It provides rich and powerful functions with stable performance. It is applicable to industries such as plastic molding, pipe extrusion, shoe making, rubber producing, and metal injection molding. Compared with the IS300 series, it features better oil pressure control performance, faster response to pressure and speed changes, lower fluctuations in steady state, and a smaller size.
